From the magic squares to the Sudoku or from America to Japan

In the year 1979 the magazine "Math Puzzles&Logic of problem" publishes a new variant of the magic square under the name "NUMBER Place". Some years later, 1984 the Japanese publishing house "Nikoli mystery" this new number mystery under the name "Suji publishes wa dokushin ni kagiru". In English translated: "each number must be only". One later speaks short time however only of the short form "Sudoku". Fast the play in Japan wins ever more trailer.
